Chrome Can: Why the Future is Chromebook

There are so many reasons why Chromebook naysayers say they are not good.  Do you remember Scroogled Campaign?

Now every computer company is offering a lower end computer, less under the hood and more reliance on the cloud!.

If you think about it, the Chromebook is using a very old model.  The server, workstation model.  In this setup, a server hosts the software and the computers that people use, the workstation, access the software stored on the server.  The software is not installed on the workstation.  This was the way many schools and universities did things with their computer labs.  In this new model, the Chromebook is the workstation and the Internet and all the servers that make up the World Wide Web are the servers. What makes this possible is a highspeed Internet connection.  Without a highspeed Internet connection, this wouldn’t work.

As time passes the speed of the Internet is just going to increase making more complicated tasks easier to do over the Internet.  What this means for Chromebooks is that their capabilities will just get better over time.  Just think about how Chromebooks have already changed over time.

Add the ability for Chromebooks to run Android apps, which is getting better at an amazing speed and Chromebooks are poised to be the future computer for most people.
