Things are moving quickly.
Faster, in fact, than many of us expected.
Advances in Artificial Intelligence, especially toward AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and ASI (Artificial Superintelligence), are no longer distant concepts. They’re present-tense. Real research frontiers. And they’re shaping the world we are already stepping into.
And with all this acceleration comes something we can’t afford to ignore:
A tension between possibility and responsibility.
When Intelligence Outpaces Intention
There’s no doubt AI holds incredible potential.
We’re talking about medical breakthroughs, climate solutions, personalized education, creative tools that were unthinkable just a few years ago.
But.
This momentum comes with risks we need to name:
- AI systems optimized for efficiency instead of empathy
- Power concentrated in too few hands
- Erosion of privacy, autonomy, and agency
- Misinformation moving faster than truth
- And maybe the biggest one: tech that moves faster than our ability to guide it
This isn’t about panic.
It’s about purpose.
The future of AI won’t be shaped by engineers alone. It will be shaped by all of us, by the questions we raise, the values we center, and the choices we make every day.
So…what can we do?
You don’t need a PhD in machine learning to influence AI’s future.
What we do need is awareness. Reflection. Dialogue. And a framework for action that’s grounded in what really matters.
That’s why I created the StrAIght Path.
A human-centered approach to navigating a world shaped by AI.
A way for everyday people to step forward with clarity, confidence, and care.
The StrAIght Path
(Eight actions anyone can take to help guide AI toward humanity)
You can find the full guide below, but here’s the heart of it:
S – Stay Informed
Learn how AI works, where it’s being used, and what the risks and rewards look like.
T – Talk About It
Make AI part of the conversation—in classrooms, homes, faculty lounges, and coffee shops.
R – Reflect on Values
Ask: What matters most? What won’t we compromise? What kind of world are we building?
A – Advocate for Ethics
Support policies, companies, and communities working toward transparency, safety, and responsibility.
I – Include Diverse Voices
Listen. Especially to those most impacted by technological shifts.
G – Guide Your Use
Use AI with care. Make sure intention leads convenience, not the other way around.
H – Hold Companies Accountable
Push for better. Ask questions. Don’t settle for black boxes.
T – Teach and Share
Mentor others. Share tools and insights. Build collective literacy.
None of these steps require a computer science degree.
But together? They build momentum.
A Companion App for the Journey
To support this path, I built something to help you explore each step in a meaningful, reflective way.
👉 Explore the AI-StrAIghtPath App
Inside, you’ll find:
- Prompts to reflect on each action
- Personalized guidance based on your context
- Practical steps to get started
- Invitations to bring others along
It’s simple. Conversational. Accessible.
No technical background required, just curiosity, care, and the willingness to engage.
A Future Worth Choosing
AGI and ASI don’t have to be forces that happen to us.
We can shape them, with values, ethics, and community at the center.
The StrAIght Path is about choosing direction over drift. Purpose over panic. Humanity over hype.
It’s a call to walk with intention.
To build an AI future that reflects the very best of who we are.
So….what kind of world do you want your children, students, future generations to inherit?
Let’s keep walking the path. Together.
